Unpopular Predictions
1. Paul George will finish the year 3rd in the scoring race – Paul George has had his reservations about playing the 4 but in the preseason he has shown why Frank Vogel inserted him into that position. Taking advantage of the bigs that will guard him was easy task in the preseason and it should translate into the regular season. Especially with last year on his mind, we may see an aggressive Paul George looking to prove that he belongs with the superstars
2. Kevin Durant will NOT win the scoring title – Kevin Durant is coming back from an injury that took him out of the 2014-2015 season. I mean it is possible that Durant will come back from his foot injury as if nothing happened, crossing defenders, shooting step back fadeaways & pull-up 3s. While KD is capable of scoring 30 a night (Efficiently), with this current Thunder team, he will not have to do that at all.
3. Detroit Pistons & Sacramento Kings make the playoffs – While watching both teams last year, they had the look and feel of a budding 8th seed playoff team with missing factors. Detroit will have a full season with Reggie Jackson with a ROY candidate Stanley Johnson who was looking like a sure starter in the preseason, combined with the might of Andre Drummond & the unpredictability of the east, Pistons will have a great chance to make the postseason. Kings have the best team to be filmed for “Hard Knocks” with Rondo, Rudy Gay & Demarcus Cousins being coached by George Karl. IF (With a HUGE IF) they get together and play like a team, they have the talent to win 46-49 games and sneak in to the 8th seed.
