With only days until the NFL Draft, this is the final edition of the official Keeping It Real Sports Mock Draft. I’ll never understand how a player’s draft stock can rise and fall so much without so much as a workout. I still believe that Teddy Bridgewater is one of the best quarterbacks in the draft but for whatever reason, a lot of people have him slipping all the way out of the first round. As always, this mock draft reflects who I believe is the best fit and value for each team and I haven’t considered any trades.
As Im writing this, there are only a few pro days left this offseason. Johnny Football impressed scouts at his pro day while the best word I can find to describe Teddy Bridgewater is meh. Blake Bortles is making a serious run for the number one spot and of course everyones wondering if Jadeveon Clowney will be the pick after a great pro day. Will the Texans take a quarterback or will they trade down as many people think they will? Is there a mystery team that will offer the world for the first overall pick? Why did the Patriots meet with Johnny Manziel? I hope I can predict the answers to some of these questions.
My second mock draft is coming right off the heels of a very entertaining NFL Combine. I’m not going to go into the details of the weekend. Instead, I’ll just jump right into the mock draft and point some things out as I go forward.
The East-West Shrine Bowl and the Senior Bowl have both come and gone and we’ve got a few months before the draft. Before we get to the scouting combine, I thought I’d put up my first mock draft. Obviously there will be some big changes to this as we get closer to May and some of these guys’ draft stock goes up and down.
