After a few weeks of posturing, the Mets have signed veteran center fielder Curtis Granderson. This article is going to be pretty subjective due to my Mets fandom. Just to get it out of the way, I do like the signing. I wish it were a three year deal because he’s already 32 and I can’t imagine what a 36-37 year old Granderson making over $15 million a year will do. Curtis, the three time All-Star, is coming off of an injury that caused him to miss 101 games last season. While I’m happy to have him on the team, anyone can see why a Mets fan would be apprehensive to see this guy in blue and orange. He’s a lifetime .261 hitter and Citifield is a much bigger park to hit out of than Yankee Stadium is so it would be expected that his power numbers will dip.

I’ve never met Alex Rodriguez. This shouldn’t come as a shock to anyone. I’ve never been within 100 yards of the man. All I know of him is what I’ve seen since his debut so many years ago. All I know is the immense talent and skill that’s been on display since his days with the Seattle Mariners, the Texas Rangers and now the New York Yankees. Those that do know him or have come in contact with him say he’s an arrogant, self-centered jerk and they might be right. You don’t have to know the man personally to see that. It was never more evident than when he interrupted the World Series in 2007 to announce he was opting out of his contract with the Yankees…only to receive an even bigger contract with the Yankees. So yes, Alex Rodriguez is a douche. But even douches should be treated fairly.

It’s that time again baseball fans as the world eagerly awaits to see who will be chosen to compete in the annual midsummer classic. Both rosters include plenty of new faces and a few old making their last appearances under the All Star lights. Here are your rosters for the 2013 MLB All Star game on Tuesday July 16th at Citi Field in Queens, NY.

I don’t apologize for my faults. They are what they are and I am who I am because of them. When I started watching baseball, I was living in Queens and like many of my fellow Queens natives, the New York Mets represented my town so I supported them.
