Inception The Best Movie of 2010?

So where can one begin with a movie like Inception? It is already being regarded as one of the best films of this summer, if not the entire year. From a personal point of view, this movie was great. Everything all the way down to the trailers was done just right; they gave enough details to garner your interest but did not reveal much of the movie through the released clips.  So if you have not yet seen this movie you will not be able to figure out what it is about.  Written and directed by Christopher Nolan, this movie was already expected to be more than exceptional after his last film The Dark Knight was such a mega hit with both critically and financially.

If you have not seen this movie yet but plan to be advised that in order to properly review this movie, some details must be explained so beware of the following.  To understand the movie you must know what “Inception” is. “The process of embedding a thought in the mind of a subject in such an incredibly subtle manner, that they end up thinking that they came up with it on their own. Leonardo DiCaprio plays the main character Cobb, a man who works with a team stealing corporate secrets from the minds of executives while they sleep “Extraction”. Without spoiling the rest of the movie Cobb tries to clean up his past by accepting a mission where he and his team would instead of extracting information would have to plant a seed of an idea into the mind of a high level (Fischer Jr,) executive who will be inheriting his fathers fortune (Fischer Sr.) “Inception” The only problem with this, is that it has never been done before and is perceived by most as impossible. Haunted by the images of his “past”, as well as his wife( Ellen Page), he has to figure out what is a dream or a reality, while he and his team members take a journey into Fischer Jr’s mind that may leave them stuck in paradox forever.

From there begins the exceedingly complex and multi-layered process of not only building the world in which they will place Fischer Jr, but the script they will have to follow in order to lead him to an initial seed of a subconscious thought that will eventually grow to a major, conscious decision. One that he may not otherwise decided to make or even consider. The story is riveting and will take you through one level after another, until you’re not quite sure where, exactly, you are. I was impressed on the detail of this movie it has so many twist and turns, the viewer will constantly be on the edge of their seat. The end takes you into a spin by itself and that’s where a lot of the interpretations begin as well.  This movie is packed not just action but suspense, making the Inception an amazing movie to watch in 2010. Inception is rated PG-13 in a theatre near you.
