As we draw nearer to the beginning of the upcoming college football season, its time to take a look at some of the candidates for the Heisman trophy. Last year’s winner, Johnny Manziel is the front runner to win the award and could become the first two-time winner since Archie Griffin played for the Buckeyes.
The biggest change since my last mock draft is obviously the Darelle Revis trade from the Jets to the Buccaneers. I don’t think the Jets got enough in the trade. They basically traded away the best cornerback in football for a 1st and 4th round pick. I know the Jets had no leverage but the fact of the matter is they aren’t as good of a team as they were before this trade. They have too many holes to fill and they have no margin for error going into a weak draft. Meanwhile, the Buccaneers have solidified their secondary that was atrocious last season. This is likely my last mock draft before Thursday night’s draft.
This year’s free agency has shaken a lot of teams up lately, changing the landscape of the draft. This is my second mock draft, my first since the free agency period began.
News flash: The BCS system is flawed. Extremely flawed. There’s no possible way the current system can continue without a fanbase being neglected, alienated, forgotten and disappointed. This year’s (un)lucky fanbase? Fans of the Georgia Bulldogs.
