Tyrion Lannister – Jose Altuve

Reasoning: Okay, okay. You might think I chose Jose Altuve to be Tyrion Lannister solely on the fact that they are both on the shorter side (and you may be right). HOWEVER, there are other key reasons why I chose Altuve to be the lovable“Imp” as well. Besides Altuve and Tyrion being small in stature, both have taught their critics that a lack of size does not preclude them from being in the top tier of their respective worlds. Tyrion might be the smallest man in the Seven Kingdoms but he has also worked his way up the totem pole, becoming the Hand of the Queen. While Altuve is the MLB’s shortest player, at 5 foot 6, he has also been in the Top 10 in MVP voting the past two seasons, including a second place finish in 2016. As Varys once said, “a very small man can cast a very large shadow.” Even though Varys was using this quote to describe Tyrion, it can easily be used to describe the Houston Astros’ all-star second baseman as well.

Sandor “The Hound” Clegane – Aaron Judge

Reasoning: The Yankees could’ve left Aaron Judge for dead after his slow start in 2016, the same way Arya Stark and G.o.T viewers left Clegane for dead during the Season 4 finale. However, now looking back at it and taking a second glance at both of these men’s monstrous bodies, it was beyond foolish to think that one bad dagger would end these giants’ storylines. In 84 at-bats in 2016, Judge struck out in half of them (42 K’s) but his return in 2017 marked the beginning of domination and perhaps, even an MVP season. In a very similar fashion, The Hound’s return in “The Broken Man” (Season 6, Episode 7), was a chance for his redemption and gave Game of Thrones fans a second chance to embrace the lovable giant. Both men have big hearts that match the size of their freakish-sized bodies. ALL RISE FOR THE HOUND.
