Health: 5 Quick and Healthy, No-Cooked Breakfast

Not everyone has time for breakfast. Some of us would rather sleep 30 more minutes than get up and cook but when you don’t have breakfast you are preventing your body from getting the nutrients it needs to give you energy for the day. Having breakfast helps you improve concentration and provides strength and endurance if you do any physical activities. But I know, I know, you still do not want to wake up earlier to cook, very reasonable, but no worries, I have 5 quick and healthy meals that you can have for breakfast:

1) One apple/ or fruit with 2 spoons of peanut butter. We do not need a stove to eat this choice. Having an apple will provide you the carbs to give you a kick start and the peanut butter is a healthy choice of fat (about 16g per 2 spoons) and 6-8g of protein per same serving.

2) Cereal: probably the fastest and easiest choice for a quick breakfast. Unfortunately many cereals today are load up with sugar. Make it healthier by eating a whole grains cereal high in protein.

3)Bagel with cream cheese: a whole wheat bagel will give you enough slow- digesting carbohydrates to keep you full during the morning; while 2 tbsp of cream cheese (preferably low fat) will give your body protein.

4)Greek yogurt: the only thing you need for this breakfast idea is a spoon. You can add 1/4c of peanuts, almonds or granola for a complete meal.

5) Sandwich: You can make a sandwich in less than 5 minutes. Pick low in sodium turkey or ham, low fat cheese, lettuce and tomato, put it inside pita or whole wheat bread and you have a breakfast that will keep you focus and satisfy till lunch time.

Remember  that you do not need a stove, microwave or oven to have a quick healthy breakfast. As usual, consult your nutritionist before making any changes to your diet.
