The moment every NBA fan has been waiting for especially those with teams in need of a new star player and a fresh start. The NBA free agency period begins at the stroke of midnight of July 1st as a line of teams will be awaiting to hear which star player will align with them for the upcoming season. At the start of the season, there were two schools of thought. Fans either believed that the Knicks were good enough to win the division, finally win a playoff series, and go even farther…or they thought the Knicks would be the same old Knicks by failing to live up to the expectations when Carmelo Anthony was traded here from Denver.
The Boston Celtics after league approval will send Garnett, Pierce and Jason Terry to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for the expiring contract of Kris Humphries, Gerald Wallace, Kris Joseph, Marshon Brooks and Keith Bogans along with three first-round picks. The three draft picks will come in the 2014, 2016 and 2018 drafts essentially the future hopes of the Nets.
