Game Recap: Nets Bench Ground Hornets

Consistency is the key, and one thing the Nets bench has been consistent about is the energy and lift they give the team every time they touch the hardwood. If guard Devin Harris was to be traded for Carmelo Anthony, could Jordan Farmar take over the back court? You be the judge.

Wednesday, Chris Paul and the New Orleans Hornets came to Newark, NJ and left their game back home. Farmar had 8 points and 11 assists off the bench serving as a catalyst making key plays down the stretch to stop Paul. Sasha Vujacic scored 25 points with 15 from beyond the arc and Kris Humphries (who didn’t have Kim Kardashian on the sideline) added 14 points and 15 boards.

The 103-101 Nets win in OT wasn’t solely based on the bench offense, the team’s overall defense sealed the deal ending a 3 game losing streak. Carmelo or not, I believe they can still make a run for the playoffs if they play every game the way they played tonight. Will we see the New Jersey Nets make the playoffs for the first time post Carter, Jefferson and Kidd’s exit? Stay tuned!

    Great article Flo!
However I honestly doubt the Nets will make the playoffs, they just don’t have enough manpower to really beat out even the bottom feeders of the Eastern Conference

Good win for the nets. They have the talent to play with anybody in this league, if only they play like that every night. Truly consistancy is the key.

Agree Maryann. If a team sticks to consistency in which works for them, why change it? For instance, I wouldn’t recommend consistency on where the Miami Heats played this week. Talk about lack of synergy and efforts!

  4. Thanks J!
And Victor, like I said they have the chance to make the playoffs if they play the rest of the season the way they played last nights game. I didn’t say they had a guaranteed chance at the championship, but definitely make the first maybe second round.
