Carmelo’s New York State Of Mind

New York City is quite arguably the greatest city in the world and it features some of the greatest attractions. One of the traditionally great draws had always been the New York Knicks basketball team but due to poor play and player personnel the past ten years have been anything but attractive.

Denver Nuggets super star forward Carmelo Anthony has made it clear to his team that he will sign a 65 million dollar extension only if he is then traded to the Knicks. The addition of another superstar along side 100 million dollar man Amare Stoudemire will increase not only the team’s play but the organization’s overall worth as the Knick’s brand will grow significantly in appeal.

Carmelo’s Impact On The City

Carmelo will instantly increase ticket sales for Madison Square Garden as his presence alone brought sell outs once a year every time Denver visited the Knicks. There will be an instant increase in Jersey and other merchandise sales as the Knicks ranked fourth this year in NBA Store sales and Carmelo was the eleventh most sold NBA Jersey. The Knicks will be expected to be a better team gaining more notice from the national television markets for fans wishing to see the star tandem of Stoudemire and Carmelo. The Knicks in previous years was rarely seen on national televised games unless they were against other superstars like Lebron James or Kobe Bryant visiting New York to play them.

New York’s Impact On Carmelo

Carmelo will be back in his hometown and will be able to give his wife television personality Alani “La La” Vazquez the perfect home for her career as well. The move to New York will also allow Carmelo to take full advantage of the many endorsement opportunities and entertainment options that can take place off the court. Carmelo will also be in position to win a NBA title and garner more attention for being a winner and a reputation like that only leads to more income.
