Hard Knocks: NY Jets – Episode 2 Recap

This week’s episode was another inside look at the life of the New York Jets players and coaching staff. Once again we were not disappointed as the only major change was the lack of F-Bombs from Head Coach Rex Ryan thanks to media criticism (lame).

The first part of the show we learn that the Jets had a horrible practice day, signed new players for the rest of camp and that Joe McKnight isn’t that good. The best line of this part is when one of the Jets players say the reason why McKnight is struggling is because he had to take a pay cut from college to the NFL (Ouch Take That USC)

Part 1

In the second part we get to see the interesting relationship between veteran quarterback Mark Brunell and starter Mark Sanchez who is 17 years younger than him. The funniest moment was when Brunell talked about his daughter going to college having a crush on Sanchez and that he refuses to let them meet. We also begin to learn that corner back Antonio Cromartie has eight children and is afraid of going down water slides.

Part 2

In part 3 we learn that special teams coach Mike Westhoff has overcome losing a leg due to cancer to still coach every year. The team then re groups and go to the movies to see “Meet The Schmucks”, yeah you read correctly Steve Carrell is the secret weapon for gang green this year.

Part 3

The last part of the show is the big showdown between Big Blue and Gang Green with the Giants back ups basically defeating the Jets back ups. The show closes with Ryan confronting his second team and challenging them to be better or else.

Part 4

This week’s episode displayed plenty of flaws within the Jets bench giving fans something to worry about in the case of a starter getting injured. I do have to admit I miss Ryan dropping the F-Bomb but now his latest challenge from the show is Tony Dungy of all people go figure.
