Turner Sports will officially launch Kia NBA Tip-Off ’13, the opening week of the 2013-14 NBA regular season, with three consecutive nights of doubleheader coverage across TNT and NBA TV. Entering its 30th consecutive year of NBA coverage, TNT will open the season with a doubleheader Tuesday, Oct. 29, beginning at 7 p.m. ET when the Sports Emmy Award-winning studio team of Ernie Johnson, Charles Barkley, Kenny Smith and Shaquille O’Neal televise a live pregame show from Flatiron Plaza in New York City. Join the KIRS team down there amongst all the NBA fans!

ESPN will begin their coverage November 1st without the services of Hall Of Famer Magic Johnson in hope of revamping their coverage of the season. Both schedules are listed below for the national broadcasts.

Less than two weeks ago, Jason Kidd retired from the NBA as a player. He’s already back but this time he’s traded in his jersey for a suit as he mans the sidelines for the Brooklyn Nets, the franchise he led to back to back Finals appearances in 2001 and 2002. Kidd will be the 18th coach in franchise history and the fourth person to become a head coach the season after retiring. Of the previous three, only Mike Dunleavy had a record above .500. I guess it helps to have guys like Magic Johnson, James Worthy and Sam Perkins.
