Social Media Specialist

We are currently looking for an intern who excels in all things internet and has the capacity to adapt his/her tone and messaging.

This special someone will assist in developing entertaining, informative, and evocative social content for the Keeping It Real Sports social channels. Candidate will work with our team to continuously develop content to promote our shows and to engage with our community in addition to working on the same for some of our clients.

The right candidate should be interested in sports, technology, social media, online trends, and the interwebs. He/she must have a basic understanding of how brands have been able to engage with their social following by developing unique online personalities.

KIRS Radio Production Assistant

We are looking for an enthusiastic Production Assistant responsible for editing, creating detailed summary transcriptions for The KIRS Radio Show as well as assisting the website (keepingitrealsports.com) with all aspects of production. All Production Assistants report directly to the Executive Producer.

Duties and Responsibilities:

 Production

  • Editing
  • Collaborates in the production of skits, promos and specials
  • Identifies and submits show ideas and topics as well as attends creative meetings
  • Researches topics and themes
  • Obtains audio materials needed for production

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Previous internship experience within radio and/or television
  • Proficiency in Adobe Audition and or Pro Tools

Requirements and General Skills:

  • Strong interest in editing and audio production
  • Strong knowledge of the world of sports
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and multi-task
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Excellent creative writing and communication skills for long form programming
  • Highly detail oriented
  • Comfortable working with talent, artists and high profile individuals
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast paced environment

Writer/Correspondent

The right candidate will be punctual, committed, eager to learn and have the disposition to accurately handle a dozen a more reports from high school, college and professional teams across all sports. This position has been a springboard to full-time journalism work for many sports writers. The candidate will also serve as an on-air commentator during KIRS Radio throughout the year for specific stories.

KIRS Radio Internship

Intern will learn about the media industry, gain skills and knowledge in production, journalism, teamwork and gain knowledge of how to produce a radio show.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be enrolled in a college or university and be receiving academic credit for the internship (all internships are UNPAID).
  • Must work a minimum of 20 hours per week.
  • Desire to work in sports and media
  • Ability to travel to studio in Brooklyn, NY
