NFL 2015 Power Rankings – Week 5

32. Detroit Lions (0-5) (22) – Theres a solid chance these guys go 0-16. Wow. And you know what? You can’t put this on losing Ndamukung Suh. Its much more than that.Next game: vs Chicago Bears

31.Tennessee Titans (1-4) (30) – Part of this game is making adjustments when your opponent makes adjustments. The Titans didn’t do that. Next game: vs Miami Dolphins

30. Cleveland Browns (2-3) (32) – A lot of their win had to do with the terrible Ravens defense. The Browns did a great job of capitalizing on the Ravens lack of tackling. In the end though, what does it matter? Everyone else in the AFC North is playing catch up with the Bengals. Next game: vs Denver Broncos

29. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-3) (31) – I was a little surprised at the things Doug Martin was able to do. Its almost as if the Bucs know what their doing and have a plan for the future. I don’t believe it. Still, I don’t think the Jaguars are that bad so maybe this win is a good one. Next game: Bye Week

28. Jacksonville Jaguars (1-4) (29) – Yeah, no…the Jags suck. Next game: vs Houston Texans

27. San Francisco 49ers (1-4) (28) – I’d hate to put the blame on one guy but Jim Tomsula isn’t going a good job as head coach. Sure, they’ve lost a lot of talent. A good head coach should be able to overcome that. Next game: vs Baltimore Ravens

26. Oakland Raiders (2-3) (27) (27) – I guess the bright side is that they held the Broncos to 16 points…but no one expected them to win. Next game: Bye Week

25. Washington Redskins (2-3) (25) – Taking the Falcons to OT isn’t anything to scoff at. They’re playing at an extremely high level. Theres something scary about this Redskins team. Not that they’re scary good or anything but they can do some damage if you’re not paying attention. Next game: @ New York Jets

24. Houston Texans (1-4) (24) – Jared Goff…this is your future. Next game: @ Jacksonville Jaguars

23. Chicago Bears (2-3) (26) – I hope people start to give Jay Cutler some credit because he really does deserve it. They would’ve have beaten the Chiefs with Jimmy Clausen. Next game: @ Detroit Lions

22. Miami Dolphins (1-3) (23) – Firing Joe Philbin counts as a win. Next game: @ Tennessee Titans

21. St Louis Rams (2-3) (20) – Four interceptions. Count em…four. What a terrible quarterback Nick Foles is. Ugh. Next game: Bye Week

20. Kansas City Chiefs (1-4) (19) – Defense like this and you can’t beat the Bears? For shame. Next game: @ Minnesota Vikings

19. New Orleans Saints (1-4) (17) – Thats it right? These guys are done? Blown out by the Eagles…only one win through week 5? Yeah, they’re done. Next game: vs Atlanta Falcons

18. New York Giants (3-2) (21) – Big Blue is officially the best team in the NFC East. I don’t want to get all “homer” here but with the way some of the other teams are playing in this division, the Giants could be in a good position later on this season. Next game: @ Philadelphia Eagles (MNF)

17. Baltimore Ravens (1-4) (15) – Put a fork in em. DONE. Next game: @ San Francisco 49ers

16. Philadelphia Eagles (2-3) (16) – The Eagles are starting to put things together. The Saints defense isn’t very good so its not surprising that the Eagles were able to score so many points. Next game: vs New York Giants (MNF)

15. Dallas Cowboys (2-3) (11) – I can’t remember the last time the Cowboys didn’t score a touchdown. Granted, the Patriots are a tough team but this was a terrible showing by the Cowboys. Next game: Bye Week

14. Buffalo Bills (3-2) (18) – You have to like what you saw from Tyrod Taylor. He did whatever he could to will this team to a win. Running, throwing and even catching. Don’t sleep on this team. Next game: vs Cincinnati Bengals

13. New York Jets (3-1) (14) – Bye Week. Next game: vs Washington Redskins

12. Minnesota Vikings (2-2) (13) –  Bye Week. Next game: vs Kansas City Chiefs

11. Carolina Panthers (4-0) (10) – Bye Week. Next game: @ Seattle Seahawks

10. Seattle Seahawks (2-3) (4) – Is it time to worry yet? Probably not. Clearly this ranking is me giving these guys the benefit of the doubt. We all know they’re better than this. We all know the Bengals are really good. Next game: vs Carolina Panthers

9. San Diego Chargers (3-2) (8) – The Chargers missed a golden opportunity to beat a conference rival at home without its starting quarterback. Rivers can only do so much. The defense has to give him a real chance to win. Especially with under two minutes to play. He doesn’t curse but I would imagine he’s got a few choice words for his defense. Next game: @ Green Bay Packers

8. Atlanta Falcons (5-0) (12) – Years ago, Santana Moss said something after a huge Miami Hurricanes win. Big time players, make big time plays. And the Falcons continued to make big time plays, especially in OT to win this game. I’m happy for Dan Quin and his team. Next game: @ New Orleans Saints

7. Indianapolis Colts (3-2) (7) – The Colts had to win this game, no matter who was playing quarterback. To lose to a division rival as terrible as the Texans would have really hurt. Andrew Luck’s injury may or may not be serious, I’m not a doctor. What I do know is, the Colts are lucky to be in the AFC South. Next game: vs New England Patriots (SNF)

6. Pittsburgh Steelers (3-2) (6) – Thats a hell of a win on the road without your starting quarterback. They won this game the way the Steelers are used to winning games. Running the football and playing solid defense. Mike Tomlin has to be proud of these guys. Next game: vs Arizona Cardinals

5. Cincinnati Bengals (5-0) (9) – The Bengals can’t blow this. They might be the best team in the league so they can’t get to the playoffs and blow this. The city of Cincinnati deserves this good team. Its about time. Next game: @ Buffalo Bills

4. Arizona Cardinals (4-1) (5) – There isn’t a lot to hate about this Cardinals team. They’ve been running the ball well, throwing the ball well and defending as well as anyone in the league. And they have one of the more likable coaches in the league, Bruce Arians. Next game: @ Pittsburgh Steelers

3. Denver Broncos (5-0) (3) – Dear Peyton…its time to go. Wrap it up, B. Take that two interception game to overtime. Here’s another line you can use in those Nationwide commercials. “Its time for me to call it quits.” Next game: @ Cleveland Browns

2. Green Bay Packers (5-0) (2) – Just another day at the office for Aaron Rodgers and the boys. Next game: vs San Diego Chargers

1. New England Patriots (4-0) (1) – Oh whats that? Another Patriots win? Sounds about right. Next game: @ Indianapolis Colts (SNF)
