Nets & Raptors Make NBA’s London Debut Memorable

The New Jersey Nets swept the Toronto Raptors during their two game series in London, making history for playing the first NBA regular season game in Europe. The Nets also recieved their first division win for the season. The Nets took a commanding lead in the fourth quarter that gave them the dominating win during the first game of the series, the second game however was a completly different story.

The Raptors led most of the way with their largest lead at 9 points. As the game was starting to look like any other Nets game (where they give up the 4th quarter without any fight) they forced the game into overtime. Lead changes and heart beats pacing faster than usual, Sasha Vujacic leads the Nets with his clutch play into the 2nd overtime. At that point, fans were thinking how long can the Nets hold on? They were never really the closer type of team, so it was a miracle they made it to a 2nd overtime. –

Once again just as fans thought it was over, a Deron Williams’ clutch jump shot takes them to the 3rd and final overtime. Eventually, the Nets were down by a point with seconds left on the clock, when Travis Outlaw was fouled and sent to the freethrow line. At the end of the day the one category the Nets lacked in this game (Freethrows), became the game closer along with tough defense keeping the Raptors from making a game winning shot.
